Priority implementation research for measles-rubella microarray patches identified using the Child Health and Nutrition Research Initiative methodology
Abstract
Measles-rubella microarray patches are an innovative vaccine delivery technology in development that could help improve immunisation coverage and equity in low- and middle-income countries.
To support future introduction, we used the Child Health and Nutrition Research Initiative methodology to prioritise implementation research questions for MR-MAPs. Based on a rapid literature assessment, expert consultations, and scoring by 139 stakeholders, the exercise identified 15 priority questions.
Key research priorities included supply chain management, uptake among underserved populations, and the human resource implications of integrating MR-MAPs into routine immunisation services. This agenda will help guide research and investment over the next decade, supporting equitable access to measles and rubella vaccination and progress toward disease control and elimination.
