PRINCIPAL

Related to project work:
 

  • Serve as project lead focused on ensuring the development of high-quality project deliverables (e.g., reports, evaluations, recommendations, strategies), coordinating and supervising the work of MMGH team members, external consultants, and advisor
     

  • Lead the evidence-based process of synthesizing project findings and insights and translate those into actionable recommendations for the clients, capable of positively impact the health of populations and countries
     

  • Identify potential opportunities and develop proposals for securing contracts
     

  • Serve as the lead client contact managing client relationships and providing strategic independent advice
     

  • Conduct necessary project management activities, such as management of project budgets and workplans, coordination of numerous project workstreams, and management of project team time spent.
     

  • Develop scientific manuscripts to be published in peer-reviewed journals
     

Overall:

  • Provide thought leadership in one or more of the key core areas of work of the agency: vaccination policy, epidemiology, VPD control, and surveillance, delivery of interventions, operational research, and access to vaccines.

Work Experience:
  • Minimum of relevant work experience of 15 years in the technical management of a public health related programme, ideally involving vaccine preventable disease control.
     

  • Minimum of 10 years working in public health organization
     

  • Working experience either in low- and middle-income countries
     

  • Extensive knowledge of the epidemiology of vaccine preventable diseases and of the global programs and strategies designed to reduce their burden.
     

  • Demonstrated working experience in developing strategies, concepts and analytical frameworks.
     

  • Demonstrated working experience managing projects and teams throughout the project lifecycle
     

  • Demonstrated working experience in a collaborative environment that requires the identification of conflicting perspectives and proposing practical solutions acceptable to all parties
     

  • Demonstrated experience and proficiency with the MS Office package, (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

Academic Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in public health, Epidemiology, biochemistry, or related fields
     

  • Doctoral degree in the above or adjacent fields is highly desirable

Skills/Competencies:
  • Ability to work in a complex, highly political environment
     

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-cultural team and navigate a diverse set of clients and stakeholders
     

  • Ability to work independently in a remote team set up, including the management of project teams and to deliver quality outputs in timely fashion
     

  • Initiative and planning skills to manage parallel multiple projects
     

  • Good engagement skills with existing and prospect clients
     

  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
     

  • Full fluency in English required; other languages such as French and Spanish are desirable
