Dominique Legros is a medical doctor specialized in Public Health with over 30 years of experience in the epidemiology of infectious diseases, management of outbreaks and complex emergencies in developing countries, establishment of surveillance and early warning systems, and operational research.

During his tenure at WHO, Dominique was in charge of the cholera program and of the secretariat of the Global Task Force on Cholera Control at WHO. As such, he helped countries and partners implement cholera control programs, and supported the utilization of cholera vaccine at large scale. Prior to this, Dominique’s work at WHO focused on the management of outbreaks and health crisis both at the headquarters and field levels. Previously, he worked with Epicentre and Médecins sans Frontières on areas of refugee crisis, epidemiology of outbreak prone and vaccine preventable diseases, epidemiological surveillance, training, and operational research, in technical and managerial positions.
